Some things only begin to make sense once the world grows quiet

Some moments pass quietly, yet continue to shape us long after they are gone. The conversations we replay, the places we return to in memory, and the people who leave subtle traces behind often become the things we carry with us the longest.

Tender and atmospheric, The Shape of Quiet Things explores solitude, emotional distance, and the quiet traces people leave behind in one another’s lives.

The Shape of Quiet Things

In the silence of ordinary moments, entire lives begin to shift. The Shape of Quiet Things is a tender collection of interconnected stories exploring intimacy, solitude, and the unnoticed details that quietly define who we become.

A quiet, deeply observant novel about intimacy, memory, and the moments that shape us without warning. Beautifully restrained from beginning to end. Quietly devastating in the best possible way.

Hi, I’m Elliot Morgan

I write about memory, movement, solitude, and the quiet moments that stay with us longer than we expect. Most of my work lives somewhere between literary fiction and personal reflection — stories about distance, belonging, routine, and the emotional texture of everyday life.

Over the years, I’ve filled notebooks with observations, unfinished drafts, highlighted passages, and fragments of conversations I didn’t want to forget. Some eventually became essays, short stories, or books like Between Cities and The Shape of Quiet Things. Others remain unfinished, waiting quietly in old folders and margins.

This website is a place to collect that work — books, essays, notes, and occasional reflections on writing and creativity. You can explore the writing archive, read the latest essays, or subscribe to the newsletter where I share new work and behind-the-scenes notes more personally and less formally.
